Don't look too hard in the oversized aquarium for the "invisible fish" as the sign suggests, they tend to be difficult to see. There's truth in advertizing in their tagline. Great down-home scratch made comfort food with some Cajun favorites thrown in for good measure. The Mels (Senior and Junior or Big Mel Little Mel as we all know them) have been keeping Irving well-fed for over 25 years. I recommend their chicken-fried chicken, it's my usual. Truthfully though any menu item is a winner

I LOVE THE FOOD AND SERVICE @ PO' MELVIN'S. I'VE BEEN COMING TO PO' MELVIV'S FOR THE PAST 6 or 7 YEARS. MY FRIEND "SMITTY" INTRODUCED US TO PO' MELVINS AND WE LOVE IT. GOD BLESS PO' MELVINS.
