Poor Treatment I came into this facility for symptoms I was having, such as irregular bleeding, lower back pain, abdominal swelling. I was in the process of getting approved for insurance and this was my only option for treatment. I was spoken to like an ignorant person who slept around, I explained to the nurse practioner that these symptoms were not normal and I was not sexually active, she kept forcing the issue of birth control and explained I was just getting older and my body was changing. Need help with birth control or other questions regarding sex? Planned Parenthood is located downtown on 16th St. You have to make an appointment but depending on what your situation or age is, you can get an appointment pretty quickly & sometimes even on the same day if you have a special situation (like needing the morning after pill). You can get all kinds of help here such as finding the birth control that is right for you (pills, condoms, IUD, etc) and if you need to, you can come in for the morning after pill. Privae I'm no saying it's ok to have under age sex or unprotected sex, but it does happen and it's good to know though their is someone out there providing health an education, etc. that would otherwise not be provided by parents or other people. I have used planned parenthood in the past for my pregnancies and I appreciate having someone sensitive to my needs.
