I have been to many other orthopedic surgeons and have never had any others spend the time with me that Dr. Piston did. He has specialty training in total joint replacement as well as hand surgery. The therapy facility at this practice is second to none. I highly recommend Dr. Piston and Specialty Orthopedics. We come from Pittsburgh to see him.
Outstanding explanations, detailed examinations, spends A LOT of time with you. Excellent team that works with you and coordinates the care with Dr Piston. There must be very excellent communication with everyone, because they all know what you need.
The GREATEST! He explains everything, is patient, kind and is an excellent surgeon. i had both hips done--one in 1992 + 1993 and a knee later on. i wouldn't trust any other ortho doc except Dr. Piston.
Dr. Piston is one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the area! He and his staff provide top-notch care to all of his patients - he spent time with me to explain my treatment options, made my surgery very easy for me, and checked in with me constantly after my surgery to make sure I was doing well. He has an excellent record as a highly-skilled surgeon and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
I went to Dr. Piston for my hip and knee issues, which have been bothering me for years. The wait was very reasonable to see the doc and a physician assistant handled the intake. Dr. Piston is a kind doctor who took the time to explain every step of the exam and surgical/non-surgical options to me. I am confident Dr. Piston always had my best interests in mind. The surgery went very well and Dr. Piston checked in many times to make sure I was doing well post-op. Best doctor in western PA!
I have been very happy with the care receive that Dr. Pistons office. He and his physician assistants treated me quickly and diagnosed and treated my problem thoroughly. I would gladly return to this office if I developed an orthopedic problem. Steve

Absurd waiting time to see the doctor ( more than likely ,one will see a P.A. rather than the doctor,anyway). I waited almost two hours at the last appt. and finally just left since there were two others still ahead of me.
I love having a doctor who listens and cares about my health. Dr. Piston is probably my favorite by far! Nonjudgemental, helpful and caring. The wait time in the office is long, but to get the quality care and understanding, its well worth the wait. The staff are so personable, they too seem to care about the patients who are seen there. I wish that all doctors were as honorable as Doctor Piston and his entire staff.
