I’ve been coming here for many years and I love this place
friendly staff and quick check-in nice sites and walk to the beach
Paradise!!! Friendly people and great fun 🥰
We love Pirate land! So amazing for kids! And very wonderful staff!
I like Pirateland and have been coming here many years. I always pay in full and a year in advance and was able to reserve a particular spot. I am not happy that now not only did I pay in full but I must pay an additional $20 to reserve my spot. I think you need to reconsider this additional charge for those that pay in full and a year in advance
Business response:
Thank you for staying with us! We appreciate your feedback. As you know, site location can have a big impact on guests’ experience. For many years we have required a 7 night stay to reserve by site number. Many customers are not able to stay 7 nights but have been asking for the opportunity to reserve by site number. We decided to change the policy to give more guests the opportunity to reserve by site and the lock fee helps make up for the fact that we cannot optimize reservations as much. We appreciate your input and will ... read more
oceanfront, what is nice! Beautiful beach
Our lesson learned this year is never settle for a campground because your normal is full. Just change the dates! As much as I’ve enjoyed the family I haven’t enjoyed this campground. It’s dirty, tight spots, no adequate dog walking area, some of the staff was great but the admin/management side really lacks in professionalism. I will say their bathhouses are really nice. They apparently have a COVID case in the grill and although we all take risks when going out, I accept that, however they are suppose to at least release t... read more

Thanks for your feedback Julie. We are not required to release any information at all about Covid19 cases. We let people know out of caution and as a courtesy. Giving out ANY information risks the privacy of the person. You may verify that by contacting SCDHEC. We banned your husband? From the page after he threatened to sue us and called the staff names. Sorry but we’re not going to tolerate abuse to the staff. Have a great day!
We just returned home from our first visit to Pirateland. The only real negative was the lack of lawn maintenance. The grass was literally up to my knees! Is this normal for Pirateland? I never saw anyone mowing and there was plenty of empty lots. On a positive note, my teens had a wonderful time and the atmosphere was fun and laid back! We are looking forward to trying it one more time before deciding if we love this place or not.
Business response:
Thank you for the recommendation. The grass is sometimes a challenge in the summer and this year we are a little short staffed. We are working on a solution and hopefully guests will see improvements soon. It’s so great to hear that you had a good time despite the grass. Thank you so much for giving us a try and we hope to see you again!
Everything, except it is quite crowded.
