At Pioneer Tree Farm we raise our trees organically, and use no pesticides as we contend with weeds and other tree pests. (Occasionally we do treat some invasive hardwood species with an herbicide). Our motivation is love of nature trees, wildlife, weather, the land and what we sell is an experience along with your Christmas tree. It’s a great family farm. We were happy to find a farm that grows trees organically and that donates 10% to local environmental causes. Plus, we prefer less dense, less groomed trees and were happy to find one perfect for us. — with Jeremy McElroy.
Great experience for kids besides the tree is to see and work with old wood crafting tools, make candles, fascinating to see a blacksmith work. Friendly people. Awesome experience for kids and grownups alike! I couldn’t find how to give a rating, please let me know. Definitely 5 stars!
A good (Chicago) friend recommended your lovely tree farm to us last year and we absolutely loved it! This year, we brought a guest with us and purchased two trees, which the gentlemen graciously strapped securely to the roof of our Honda Accord. Thank you for providing an amazing holiday experience that is well worth the two+ hour round trip drive. We look forward to returning next year. Happy Holidays!!
