I really wanted to love this place, and the atmosphere is awesome. But if you want a vintage 50s hairdo, go someplace else. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and the hairstylist didn't even come close to achieving it. She looked at the picture for two seconds and did a super quick style that anyone could have done. And it lasted a total of TWO DAYS before became a serious mess. I could have done better myself. Not to mention that she didn't even bother to wash my hair! Good cut grew out very well – I went here because it seems I've tried every pace in this city at one point or another. The haircut was really good but not what I asked for. Altho I never get what I ask for I'm sure now it has more to do with my hair type than the stylists skills. I have very dark think curly hair. No matter where I go I tell them to give me a cut/style and not to cut my hair short because i have thick curly hair and it needs to be long. they always cut too much. I started crying when I got home! – I went to Pimps & Pinups last night for the first time and my stylist name was Flame, what a disaster that experience was... I asked for hair color swatch book, he gave it to me, but took it away asking just to tell him what I wanted. Really Great Haircut – My first real time in a salon in over 5 years. (I shave my head.) And it was a perfect from start to finish. I walk in and they are playing the Pixies. That's a plus. Then the product they use I can't find in NYC stores: Kevin Murphy. Perfect. Then Lizzie. She gave me a perfect haircut. I was contemplating shaving my head again - but after this haircut I think I'll keep it going. And a glass of wine while you're getting your hair done is the cherry on top.

shannon is a great colorist – shannon colored my hair today. she is amazing. she took the VERY dark brown hair color out of my hair and turned it back into the super light beige blonde that i'm used to. i'm super impressed. at the nape of my neck, where it had been colored almost black, there are what looks like strawberry blonde lowlights now, but not brassy or orange looking at all. it's amazing what she was able to accomplish in one sitting. also, she didn't seem to dry it out or damage it.

Amazing Haircuts! – I decided to do a search for cool salons in the city for a haircut. It's been a few months and I desperately needed one. Once I read that this is a salon in London as well, I had to try it. Boy am I glad I did. Shannon was amazing. She spent a lot of time asking me exactly what I wanted and did exactly what I asked!! One of the best colors in the city! – I came in for the first time yesterday and saw Marissa. She gave me a single process and a cut and I had an amazing time. It's so friendly and cool in there and if you book on-line with Lifebooker, you can get a 20% discount! I will be back!

Rocking Stylist, rocking hair – I went to Pimps and Pinups for the first time this week and I am really impressed. The gentleman who greated me was sweet and funny. My stylist Angelina was awesome. She and I really talked about what I wanted and she totally delivered. I really dig my cut and she did it in a way that I can wear it in a bunch of different styles. She was a real doll with a great artistic eye. I highly recommend her.

Poor service, worse attitude – Booked a double process with Shannon, asking to have my brown hair dyed red. Gave examples like Amy Adams, Gillian Anderson, Christina Hendricks, etc., but asked for something that would still look rich, natural and flattering to my dark coloring. Shannon pressured me to pick a swatch, even though I told her I wasn't comfortable with my own judgment and wanted her to pick one for me.
