OMGOSH!! Pikes Peak was my every-morning-with-coffee-view for 3 PHENOMENAL weeks almost a year ago, but the visit to the top was absolutely BREATHTAKING!!! Colorado is DEFINITELY God's country!!! I could spend the rest of my life enjoying this view!! Thanks to my baby brother and his beautiful lady, Amanda, for the start of building my new memories!!!!!
Be prepared. Warm clothes. Definately a must for anyone who thinks they have seen and done it all.. Once you make that drive up and back down then you can say that
Being a Colorado Springs native, I don't care to drive the Peak now that it us paved. I liked the traction that dirt allowed on snowy and rainy days. I understand why it was done but they lost a visitor.
Scary, rough ride but well worth it for the spectacular views. A must do for the bucket list!
