Horrible experience with this physician--- in a nutshell, he just doesn't listen and is always rushed. Strongly recommend you get a second opinion.

My husband needed prescription refills for his medication, and our pharmacy could never get them to respond. I called the office and spoke with nurses, and still they didn't send in a refill. So I called back, and they said he needed an appointment, but couldn't get him in for over a month. After waiting weeks to get the heart meds refilled and no responses from them, we switched to Wellstar doctors who immediately got him in and refilled his medications. Worst doctors office ever. This hospital let my sister die a week ago and now they are letting my brother die. Their solution is a ventilator and if you disagree the leave you to die. Anyone in their right mind would not take a loved one to this hospital.

I now have it in my living will I would rather die in transit to another hospital than be treated at Piedmont Walton- & I’ve been a respiratory therapist for over 30 years in Atlanta. There was no wait in ER - now I know why. Went home in the same shape as I arrived in 4 hours, with a $15k bill. Dirty ER bay room, blood covered the bathroom, missed my IV, no review of test results, no one checked on me, & somehow, I have results & a bill for a urinalysis that I never gave a sample for. Pathetic…

I visited the Coliseum hospital, which is now Piedmont Macon. I had a good experience until one of the young doctors came in my room asking me why did I come to the hospital. What I thought that was very rude was for him to tell me, “ It’s not like you are the sickest person we have on covid floor.” He had no idea that I myself are also in the medical field. This is my primary Care doctor, Dr. Akinmade, and I had a real bad cut on my hand. They refused to see initially because I went to the ER and "another doctor " had already touched me, SMDH. So I asked when told to follow-up with my PCM whom am I to do that with then as you are my PCM. The nurse continued offer excuses, and she said she would relay the message to my provider. Staff doesn't communicate with one another. Doctors should be checking chart notes before speaking or seeing patients/their families about care. It seems like prognosis, diagnosis, treatment, and options change daily without thought because of the lack of knowledge regarding each case. Case workers lack personality or empathy. It's a miserable experience dealing with this hospital if someone you love is dying in it.

Authorized transfer of previous mammogram records on day of mammogram at Piedmont to use to obtain previous records with contact information for that previous group. Piedmont never followed up with previous group, and no report made as a result in 3 weeks. No number is given to the patient to be able contact Piedmont. Disorganized group.
