About this business

Established in 2006, Piccino started off as a humble cafe-style restaurant serving a limited choice ofItalian specialties. After turning into a popular hangout in just a short period of time, the restaurant moved to its current spacious location to accommodate the growing number of loyals. Wooden hues dominate the airy dining room, with pretty much everything from the floor to the kitchen counter being made of wood. Let the anticipation build as you watch the chefs in action at the open-plan kitchen. On offer is a seasonally... read more

This was not a restaurant I will go back to. I found the staff either unmotivated or disengaged with their client base. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the squash soup and the roasted chicken. The soup was the highlight of the evening, but the chicken had an odd texture to the meat and was pretty flavorless. The only appetizing part of the roast chicken dinner were the 2 pieces of a balsamic onion that was in the bed of beans the chicken came on. A bit overpriced. Too many other good restaurants in the Bay Area to e... read more

Had a great time at Piccino’s today with 10 friends. We sampled the soup, burratta, pasta and pizza. All were delicious and worth the trip from Oakland. Hope to go again soon when I’m in the Dogpatch neighborhood.

Best meatballs in town...very pleasant and engaging staff

Business response:

Thanks Jeff! Those meatballs are Margherita's (one of the founders) grandmother's recipe.....straight from Lucca, Italy. Yum!

Hands down, the Piccino staff are amazing, the wine selection and food pairings are absolutely superb, and the dessert menu is to die for. I'm definitely coming back, and I'm bringing more friends with me. Piccino is truly such a hidden gem that I'm so glad I've discovered.

Neighborhood favorite. Always great and top service. Love to sit at bar and watch the magic happen in the kitchen. Don't let description of coffee fool you... that's only a little part... it's all about the restaurant.

Rip off. $18 for a very small bowl of pasta. No protein of any kind. Sure it was tasty but no tiny bowl of just pasta and sauce and cheese validates $18. Inflated. Insulting.
