I would avoid PGT at all costs. They have zero regard for timeliness and customer service. My window order has now been delayed 5 months past original completion date. Nobody from management will return and call or email, only one customer service rep that says the complaint will be escalated. I've reached out to many in management through other forums (LinkedIn, etc.), and not one call back. No communication, no new timelines, and all the while I've paid a 50% deposit for this project 6 6 months ago. Shop elsewhere.

Build quality of window and door frames and glass are excellent. I completed changing all windows and doors to PGT impact with great results. Then I installed two sets of PGT impact sliders. Frames and glass are great. The track design they sit in is the worse in the entire industry. No exterior weep/drain holes. The tolerances of track at top and bottom allow bugs and moderately heavy rain to enter interior side of track. These doors are useless in Florida, I’m stuck with them now. I ordered new PGT windows from All Weather Protective that were installed in May 2020. In October 2020 one of the windows cracked and I called All Weather Protective to replace it. No one came out to measure the window. During the first week of November 2020 PGT came out to replace the window, the replacement window was too small by several inches. The worst windows and doors. Do not buy. I have and their windows and doors for the past 4 years and multiple time people have been locked out on our decks and can not get back in the house. Do not buy. The. Local distributor in Charleston, SC does not handle the complaints. DO NOT BUY!

We had five PGT doors installed. The problem is that when the wind blows there is a whistle at each of the doors. The more intense the wind, the louder the whistle. It can be very annoying.

Ordered PGT windows and doors. They arrived in totally inadequate packaging to protect the vinyl and glass; they were not boxed, other than edges, and no clearcoat on the vinyl or glass. As a result the vinyl on all 8 products were damaged and one glass had a large scratch. Also they advertise black vinyl, but the color is more a dark bronze; not acceptable. PGT does not honor their own warranty, not worth the paper it's printed on. If you are in the market for windows i strongly recommend choosing another manufacturer.

Do not buy the PGT products! They are cheap junk. I spent over $12,000 on two patio doors. They are designed to allow water to come into the house!! My new expensive hard wood flooring is getting ruined. I have not put up drapes yet and am afraid too as the water comes into the inside tracks and if the drapes touch the track, they will absorbe the water and be ruined. The frames on these doors are cheap plastic and came from the factory filthy dirty and stained. They will not come clean. How do I get these things out of my ... read more

My PGT impact windows leak badly, damaged my floors, cabinets and mold needs to be removed. The house leaked with previous hurricanes I was told windows and sliders bowed causing water damage. That was not so...The water came through screw holes in window channel that are rececessed therefore water leaks through there and not weep holes. Very difficult to seal since hole is not centered in channel, but offset. Definitely a poor design for areas like the keys where we get lots of rain.
