not friendly – I just dropped in to get some bbq. I go to the back where the prepared cooked foods are. I ask if they have sliced brisket. the counter guy says all irritated like .......well, we've got this and we've got that.........you got to tell me what you want. here's a menu. ....//// like he is too busy to talk to me and just shoves a menu at me. really burned me up.
Crazy!!!! – They even sell Lion and Bear Back.........you can definitely find a large and crazy variety here.
Deer Processing not a good result from Pete's Fine Meats – I brought my deer here because of a referral and after viewing consumer comments. Concern 1 - There are no signs anywhere guaranteeing it will be your deer meat versus a collection of deer being processed. Not all hunters dress out their deer right away. Concern 2 - Review your order before leaving. I asked for 3 to 4 lbs of jalapeno sausage but received 42lbs - they wrote 3/4 of my deer to be processed into jalapeno sausage. One of the finest selections of exotic meats outside Africa – Throughout my World Cup Food Challenge, I searched high and low to represent some of the odd countries less known for their culinary endeavors. Thanks to Pete's exotic meats, I was able to find kangaroo and throw it on the Barbie just in time to watch Australia lose. go here for BURGERS!! and steak. – Pete's fine meats....and deli is so awesome! you go in and you notice to your right, sodas and other stuff like sauces and junk. To your left....THAT's where you want to go. you see the thickest, reddest, most amazing looking steaks and meats you've ever seen. Its crazy...then if you keep going left, you'll find the little "restaurant" part where they will make you the best burger you will have in houston. Good For Lunch, Great for Meat – I like going to Pete's for lunch. The steak tacos and steak hogies are my favorite, but everything I have had has been good. Great beef jerky, and the Pork and Alligator Sausage was fantastic
OK Steak – Not really a restaurant but it is ok for a quick lunch
Deer Sausage – Sausage not consistent....they come packaged all different lengths. In addition, they do not use freezer paper to package the sausage. They come packaged in a clear plastic bag with the end taped. Not good for storing for long periods of time. Had to spend $60 more to purchase freezer paper online and repackage myself. For the same sausage and amount/pounds they cost about $20 more than Midway in Katy and that does not include the $60 cost for the freezer paper. Best cheeseburger ever – I honestly have to say this was one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. The meat is thick and full of flavor. The steak hogies are also excellent. In fact, anything I've ever tried here is great! Try the deer jerky too! I come here often for lunch and I have yet to experience the more exotic meats.. but it would be a shock if they were anything less than satisfying. Just give it one try and you'll be hooked.
