I, too, greatly anticipated the reopening of the Lafayette tradition that is Pete's but I am afraid that the new owners have ruined a good thing. The selection is meager and overpriced. The new interior is nice, but for a sports bar feel, it is as if they have never heard of Walk-Ons or Buffalo Wild Wings. This particular restaurant niche has changed greatly over the years. It seems like they thought just the name Pete's would be enough. In today's market, it is not.
So, the reviews I have seen posted & the folks I have talked to are not too impressed. I am most disappointed in the spelling on the marquis, STAEK, really....My $$$ will probably go to Judice Inn
The new decor is pleasant and clean, but the Pete's burgers just aren't the same. The meat had little flavor and was pretty dry. The bun was VERY dry. You can no longer order a Little Pete burger. We'll give it another try in a month or two. If food hasn't improved, it's hasta la vista, baby. Lafayette has too many good burger joints to waste time with one that's only serving up mediocre food.
We went to eat there an had to wait about an hour for our food and when we did get it the hamburger was cold, the amount of fries and onion rings was skimpy for the price. I could go on!! This used to be my favorite place to eat, so I will give it a little time and may give it one final try!!
