Each sitter covers a different NYC neighborhood in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. All cat sitters have undergone training and most are able to service special needs cats. We also specialize in in-home pet grooming services for small dogs (under 25lbs) and cats -short haired, long haired, exotic breeds. First grooms, special needs pets and elderly are perfect for in-home grooming.

Great caregiver and groomer – Helen has cared for my two cats for more than 4 years. Excellent care and attention to my last minute travel needs. I'm moving out of Helen's typical service area and will pay the extra to keep her as my sitter.

Skillful Groomer – Five stars for Helen at The Pet Maven who makes Becky Sweetheart, my full-coated Shih Tzu, look like a star. Helen is a skillful groomer and handles Becky with considerable care. She attends to her needs, both physically and emotionally during the grooming process. If you are looking for perfection and a job well done, I highly recommend the Pet Maven. Your baby will think she is at the Spa.
Excellent groomer! – I have taken my Lhasa Apso to Helen and she is brilliant. My dog came back feeling as soft and fluffy as a cloud. The cut was marvelous and I really like the way she trims around my dog's face. My dog was happy and well cared for by Helen and I will definitely us her again. I would recommend Helen to all of my friends.
Great cat grooming in your home – We've had Helen, the Pet Maven, groom our Maine coon cat, Louise, several times. She is very gentle and efficient in the grooming. Louise uttered nary a hiss, and felt secure being in her own home with me, the owner, around the whole time. This time Louise's sister, Thelma, had her nails 'done' by the Pet Maven and was docile thoughout, because of the gentle and expert handling. Now Thelma wants a bath like Louise! The best doggone doggie groomer – Before discovering Helen "The Pet Maven", my doggie Louie was absolutely terrified of outside groomers. We'd been to Petco and several other local shops.....all seemingly impersonal, somewhat uncaring and insensitive to my adorable "rescue" dog. Petco uses huge fanlike dryers that nearly blew him away. gret kitty sitting service – I was in a pinch, not able to get my ususal friends to watch my big ol' kitty Bubba as I headed out of town the next week. I came across Helen here on Citysearch and was not dissappointed. On such short notice, she was able to come by and put my mind at ease. When I returned, there was a lovely note on my kitchen table. She had even gotten him some more dry food, because he had needed more than I had anticipated. Without question I will use her again!
The Best Cat Sitter / Groomer on the Earth! – I think that about sums it up. I have been using Helen and taking advantage of her services for the past four years. I would never consider leaving my pretty kitty with ANYONE else. A+++++ She is definitely the best!!
Fantastic lion cut on my cat. – This was the first time I'd had my cat cut, and I didn't know what to expect. She was incredibly efficient and professional. She also handled the cat very well- And of course, the cat looks utterly fabulous. I highly recommend The Pet Maven for grooming your animals. I will certainly be calling her next time I need mine bathed and shaved.
