I went to L&M Pequot for bleeding post tonsillectomy. Thy diagnoses me as “trickling” blood. I sat there bleeding for 5 hours before they sent me to Backus. This was after they tried to discharge me while still bleeding and my husband refused to let me leave in that condition. When I arrived at Backus I was informed about how bad the situation really was. I wasn’t “trickling” I was hemorrhaging. I needed to have emergency surgery to keep from bleeding to death. RecommendedAfter having a horrible experience at Stamford Hospital ER, we were hesitant about bringing our mother to another ER. However, Greenwich ER doctors and nurses were wonderful! They were compassionate and helpful. After a tough few days of intense pain, nausea, vomiting and dehydration, my mother left with a diagnosis and the appropriate medication and follow-up plan. She had wonderful care while she was there, particularly at this time with so many COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you!
