MANAGER OF STORE IS FIRST CLASS I recently had occasion to meet Bill, the manager of the Porstmouth store. He worked with me on an issue with the service to my truck. The manner in which he handled my issues was first class and professional. He is concerned about keeping local and loyal customers and this is comforting to me as consumer. PepBoys can be trusted as a great local resource for your car maintenance needs.
Pep Boys is good deal for the money on tires Bought set of 4 tires, and later gave the car to my brother. He had a problem with one tire after 2 years. Pep Boys stood behind their warranty. He just needed a copy of the repair slip.. I need new tires on my current car, and went there for their buy 3, get 4th free sale. Tires are lower cost, and when I check ratings on the internet, rated higher than other famous brands. Good deal for the money. Portsmouth store is where I have gone.
Auto Parts Store set up is very choatic. The service desk and so forth is poorly staffed. Very willing to help when you do get someone that is available. Selection is good and prices are good.
Oh My Gosh-The worst service of my life I took my 1997 Honda in for Air Conditioning hose repair. They said they would get the part and call me. They didn't. I called them. They had the wrong part. They said they would call me again. They didn't. They said parts for 1987 Hondas are hard to get! It altogether took 5 weeks to get the repair done. I only stuck with them because I had prepaid the part. Never again.

made an appointment on line for 4 tires got there and they didn't have any instock, so they were going to try to find some and they would let me know if they do and schedule a new time to come back. Well I only have 1 day a week off to do this stuff. I went outside to find them at another place and I did so I called them and told them to forget about my tires. so then I get an email saying that because I cancelled my appointment they would have to reschedule it, I didn't cancel my appointment, they lost my business. not happ... read more
my wife went there to get some headlights. they tell her it could be $297 to change her headlights in her Chevy. Then they say they can change them for about 100. she had no low beams, but she brought it home and we changed in less then 15 minutes. 297 for 15 minutes (probably less time for them since they know what they were doing)
