Worst, most unaccountable mortgage company we've ever dealt with. Do a "loan modification" and they'll still steal from your accounts after lying to you. If any lawyers have a spine, reach out to us and the rest of these reviewers to file a class action lawsuit.. High interest rates, and lackeys that do the bidding of their shareholders and board members who have zero connection to any of their customers.

Press 1 for broken English. Pretty horrible. They told me to send my insurance claim checks with no signatures. I Overnighted the checks. Checks have to be returned because they require signature…after I was told by two different representatives not to sign it. I can’t understand a word they are saying. Customer service is horrible.

Don/Dawn? from customer service needs a raise, best experience I have had with Pennymac within the 5 years of having a mortgage with them! Straight to the point, polite and respectful. I could understand everything he said, very clear spoken! Thank you! (8/7/26)

Would give them 0 stars if possible. Got pre approved for my loan, and then close to closing time found out they had changed my down payment from 3.5% to 15% without even letting me know. When I called David to find out the reasoning, he let me know that he knew the initial pre approval would get past his automated underwriting, but not his actual underwriters. They never bothered to call and let me know of the changes and can’t give me any way to get back to my original approval. No one has straight answers to my questions.... read more
