Insane they limit access for PPO patients and require a referral from a doctor when the patient can state symtoms needed for an appointment. Even worse for Penn employees paying extra for the PPO access, having to see a primary negates paying for a PPO. It takes a long time to reach someone and then it takes longer while they put you on hold to “check the calendar” for each possible date. Also, they take weeks after test results are in to provide any follow up instructions.

Special thanks to "Celeste", my nurse navigator who facilitated my case as I sought out a second opinion to support of the findings of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). Celeste was polite and cooperative and it was clear to me she is a good employee and I hope that Penn Med would thank her for me and acknowledge her work.
