Insane they limit access for PPO patients and require a referral from a doctor when the patient can state symtoms needed for an appointment. Even worse for Penn employees paying extra for the PPO access, having to see a primary negates paying for a PPO. This speciality seems to be prime for Penn to have indentified a loophole to extract as much as they can from patient's resources and time. Only ever have had great experiences I see Dr Schmoyer and my dad sees Dr Tse and they’re both wonderful doctors. I’ve seen Dr Pack when I was in the hospital and he was great too. All great personalities, thoughtful, takes their time, extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to getting you better
I have tried for a few months to get an appointment with Penn gastroenterology and it is useless
Doctor experience was positive, but entirely not worth it as dealing with the billing department has been an absolute nightmare. Because of their administrative error, I am being billed $750 for a preventative service that is free under my insurance plan. I have been fighting the claim for over a year. They have repeatedly communicated (to me and my insurance company) that they will correct the claim, but no follow through. Outrageous!!!!!
I could say so much about this practice. But I’ll start with the most important. Recently I found out I had a stomach tumor. (No they didn’t catch it) another hospital did after going to their ER. I’ve been calling Penn since I found out. I left messages on top of messages. Finally the receptionist from the particular doctor I was seeing called me back.
