best brunch in town – I absolutely adore this place. Great ambience, great food, great service. The prices are also very reasonable and the dishes are inventive. HIGHLY recommended
Great brunch spot – I used to live next door and miss this great brunch spot. Go early though, because it gets crowded starting at about 11 or 11:30 a.m. on weekend mornings.
quality going down hill – I live in the neighborhood and eat in/take out weekly. More and more often lately I have been served stale, or sloppily prepared food that just isn't up to par with Penelope's previous consistently good food. Worse yet, I've been met with a complacent attitude from the staff when these lapses are brought to their attention.
Best brunch in neighborhood – If the line is short or you don't mind waiting, this is definitely the best place for brunch in the neighborhood. Went again this past weekend and it was delicious. My friend had pumpkin waffles which looked super yummy. Luckily it was raining so there was no wait but that was the first time that has ever happened. Generally there is a killer line.
great local place – In this neighborhood, not many cafe styles places, so this is perfect. Very busy on weekends, but if you go before 11am, it's a shorter wait. Nice quiet place to meet for a weekday breakfast.

Cute little cafe – I was a little doubtful about Penelope because I thought the price was a little steep for sandwiches. But what a sandwich! I got the Avocado/Hummus sandwich and it was really great. The ingredients were fresh and not skimpy, and it came with a side of salad with dressing which was tart and sweet. It's a pretty small, cozy room and the staff is attentive. They had a small bar which wasn't loud. And a fresh dessert menu. I will definitely go back to try the other selections.
Great Sandwiches & brunch! – The setting at Penelope is charmingly rustic and the waiters are attentive and cheerful. The menu is a assortment of innovative sandwiches and they have a great brunch. Kind of reminds you of the country, a nice departure from the iron-clad city with great food to boot.
really good food accompanied by equally good prices – i came here with two of my friends on wednesday night. the place is pretty low-key & has a neighbourhood feel to it. its also dimly lit, and we had to rely on the sole candle at the table to read our menus. our server was really friendly and nice. i ordered the mac & cheese, one of my friends ordered the nice chicken meatball sandwich, and my other friend ordered the curried chicken salad. each item was around $10. the food arrived quickly. i was pleased to find that thei... read more
