Pembroke hospital is the worst hospital. they use retraints as a punishment. the staff is very mean to the patients. I saw a guy and a female sleeping next to each other in the hallaway by the phones, I think that very inappriate. it good like a homeless shelter, they let people sleep in the hallways on the floor. the food is gross. the staff is very rude. Dmh should investigate them and shut it down.
Insurance Fraud very very simple
The best one word description I can come up with for this place is: dungeon. If you are depressed, or have any other mental health issues, this so-called "hospital" will leave you in a worse state than when you came in. Rude, uncaring staff, "mental health associates" aka MHA's are nothing more than babysitters with a fancy title and they couldn't care less about your needs. The doctors and nurse practitioners were just downright hostile and the "cafeteria" was so disgusting I wouldn't bring my dog there. How this place cont... read more
I worked there as an MHA on several different units. On the one hand, the staff was for the most part excellent. On the other hand, some individuals in HR were something less. After I tendered my resignation, someone in HR informed me that I would never be able to work in another Arbour facility. I said thank you and left. As far as the patients went, while some of them were violent and without much hope for change, many others were just everyday people going there hard times.
Long story short, I went out drinking on a friday night (my last night to go out before spring semester started) and got too drunk and was super emotional at that point. I have really low self-esteem and a comment was made that, in my mind, brought me back to a time when I was always bullied and couldn't defend myself. My "best friend" made it 1000x worse when her drunk no common sense self laughed about the comment. When I got home I was an emotional mess and ended up taking tylenol. (not a good mix by the way) OH I forgot ... read more
For anyone wanting to get their first taste of PTSD, this place is for you! I sometimes look back on my experience here and have to keep myself from going into a panic attack because of the horrible memories. It's quite unfortunate when you're admitted to a hospital where the MHA's (who are basically just baby sitters, which I'm not at all saying is a bad thing) all appear to be more knowledgeable than the psychiatrist and case workers. The only case worker who seemed to have a brain was Cathy. Kaitlyn (who RESIGNED randomly... read more
They screwed up all communications with my family. When I explained how the medicine effected me they ignored me and said to keep taking it. (lithium - which was making me hallucinate and go delusional) There were some friendly staff members there but they pretty much ignored me, resulting in no one rational to talk to for the entire stay. One staff member said I was annoying for needing lactaid before I eat, which was the only pill that I found beneficial. I went into tremors from stress and the doctor claimed I was doing i... read more
Three days only, and our experience has been terrible. My first impression, they neglet patient basic needs and rights of the patients. The supervisors seem tired, and they seem under staffed My only hope is the care and kindness shown by some of the younger nursing staff... My question now is, with so many bad reviews, how come the State does not get to the bottom of this 'apparent care' for our needy ones... :(
My brother went there for ECT and loved it. His depression is almost gone. He likes Doctor Muffi and the nurses.
