Patsy's Pizzeria

4.5

About this business

Patsy's pizzeria is a great place to grab a pizza and drinks with friends, and is one of the oldest pizzerias in the entire city. What makes this place a favorite hangout is the delicious pizzas cooked in the classic coal-fired pizza oven. Very few of these devices are still around, so if you want a taste of pizza as it should be, this is the place. A number of fresh toppings are available, including delectable sausage, tasty mushrooms, and of course pepperoni.

3000 miles to pizza hell – I consider myself a great lover of New York style pizza. Growing up in New Jersey, I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed great pies from many different places. I've lived most of my adult years in San Diego, and even there, I've found some pies worthy of thin-crust note. While on vacation in Jersey, I flew my girlfriend out to help me sample some prime examples of different North Eastern Cuisines. I chose Patsy's in East Harlem because it was featured on the TV show Pizza Challenge: New York v... read more

Best Pizza – Being a New Yorker, I've had all sorts of pizza. Well, when I tried Patsy's, there was no turning back to the rest. I love Patsy's Pizza. I could eat a whole pie by myself.

I could have been severly injured!!!!! – Had dinner there tonight. I ordered the chicken marsala with a side salad and my husband ordered veal parm with a side pasta. The waiter urged me to order the broccoli rabe and split a salad. I took one bite of the broccoli rabe and felt something very sharp in my mouth. I pulled a sharp metal wire out of my mouth and then another one. When I called the waiter over their response was "oh no, not again" I was very nice, polite and calm about it. They said the kitchen doesn't clean the ... read more

Excellent Food and Atmosphere – This place is history, the food is phenomenal and the staff is super cool. I absolutely love the pizza but I'm too confused which dish is really my favorite. The place is clean and old fashioned and i think it beats all the other so called better restaurants.I LOVE IT.

Pizza the Old Fashion Way – You know that feeling when you walk into history and you get it everytime you visit the original Patsy's on 116th and 1st Ave. The smells, Fank Sinatra playing on the stereo, and the old world charm that has been replaced by fast food pizza. This is an old world pizzaria like I remember from a kid. And, with pizzas starting at $11.00, it's no wonder the place continues to pack them in.

One of the Best Pizza places in NYC – I have been going to Patsy's for years and my kids would rather that I schlep to East Harlem to pick up the pizza than ordering from any of the great delivery joints we have around us. My kids are NYC pizza snobs so their demand is probably a good testament to Patsy's tasting pretty darn good. Their other favorite is John's Brick Oven in Greenwhich Village. If you don't like thin crust, brick oven pizza, you won't like Patsy's or John's.
