I first visited Commonwealth Urology in 2003 with problems associated with an enlarged prostate and was successfully treated for prostate cancer in 2008. I have been well satisfied with the knowledge and treatment approach of Dr Sunil Patel and Dr John Basile. Both are reassuring in their methods and thorough in their procedures while avoiding unnecessary tests and treatments. Their office staff is also professional and easy to contact. I would definitely recommend both Dr Patel and Dr Basile.
I met Dr Patel when I was referred to him by my family doctor for possible prostate cancer 6 years ago. During that time Dr Patel has guided me through testing, biopsy, surgery and follow-up for what turned out to be stage 2 prostate cancer. I found Dr Patel to be very straightforward and willing to provide me with all of the information I needed to make decisions about the various treatment options. His follow-up care has also been excellent. I highly recommend Dr Patel.
If you have to get the boys snipped, this is the guy to trust to get it done. Dr. Patel is calming, attentive, and direct. I'm sending all my friends and co-workers his way.

I began as a patient of Dr. Patel's in 2003, when my benign prostate enlargement needed attention. I was gritting my teeth about surgery but Dr. Patel treated in conservatively for many years. He only operated (a TURP) in 2013, when, after anesthesia for another procedure, urinating became unbearable. The operation was a terrific success and even now, three years later, I only need to urinate once a night. His manner was great and his skill even better. I would recommend him highly.
Dr. Patel made a awkward procedure (i.e. vasectomy) as comfortable as could be. Procedure was quick and painless. 12 weeks out, all clear and no issues!
