I moved here to Park Apartments this past April. I had a studio and I enjoyed it very much. I have good neighbors. IWhen I met the OFFICE Staff, I found them to be up front and very Poliet. I explained my medical condition and I could NOT have asked for better UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE.The MAINTAINACE MEN WERE LAZY , dont blame the office girls. Work orders were handed out . i am getting an apartment there this week.... they seeem really nice, my friends all live there, but i have heard a few negative things about them... hopefully things have changed.
The owners are so cheap they still have not even picked-up the chainlink fence that came down in the May 22 tornado. It is still lying on the ground exactly as it was on the evening of May 22. Some of the tenants hang their laundry on it to dry. Its quite a sight.
I have lived at the park apartments now for two months. In this time I have observed the following things. We were forced to move after the May 22nd, 2011 tornado that tore through more than 1/3 of Joplin. When we moved in, we were told the carpets would be replaced. Not only were they not replaced, they were stained to the hilt. During the late month of July and all of August, there has been a problem with a water leak in our place, related to our A/C. I have never felt so unwelcomed and at home untill I moved in here. People are so nosy and have made me feel unsafe and as if I need to watch over my shoulder on a daily basis. I would leave if I had the money to waste but I dont. I have some maintenance issues which I am waiting to get resolved. Just as A said on there remarks Its really not worth the headache or even the money!!!!
WOW!! "Move in ready" my ass! I was approved two weeks before i moved in and i went the day before to look and make sure my bed was going to fit in the room..when i got there that day the heater was still broken, the panel was off the ceiling in the bathroom, the thermostat was off the wall, and there were tools everywhere! The guy said he would be up the next morning to fix everything, i got there at two pm the next day and nothing had been touched!! I moved in summer 2010. My apartment was nowhere near ready for occupancy and still to this day nothing has been fixed. I have reported these needed repairs 4 times. I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor as this place was disgustingly dirty. Its not JUST the office or maintenance its the owner too. They dont care as long as they get paid. This place isnt worth the headache.
I currently live in the Park Apartments and dont have any problems. I too have heard this is the ghetto but have not had any problems with anyone. Anywhere you live there are going to be losers and druggies I believe if you stay away from them you will be fine. The managment is nice. I love the grounds. My apartment is pest free and clean! This place is a joke. The childrens dad lives there and has requested several weeks ago to have simple things fixed and still these items have not been taken care of. He has been waiting almost a full 6 months to get his burners on his stove working. Hes had to resort to an electric skillet b/c only ONE burner works. Not to mention the shower head that is completely junk, I replaced it myself.
