this place has excellent thin crust wood fired pizza – a great neighborhood spot for pizza. We have been here for lunch and dinner at least 5 times now. We are extremely particular about pizza. Every now and then we end up with a pizza where the crust is soggy in the center, indicating the oven is not evenly heated. We have had at least eight of the pizzas and a few other dishes. They have all been above average. The one letdown repeatedly is the Italian wedding soup - don't bother. Their gelato and ice creams at the deli fo... read more
Over Rated – I started going to Parisi at their old location. The food and service was way better. They try to do it all instead of concentrating on one thing. The food is way overpriced for what you receive. After placing our order we ended with so many plates on our table we couldn't navigate. If you hate ala carte and high prices try Gemelli's a few doors down. Great service, great food, and everything is inclusive. Plus it won't tap your wallet.
Disliked the food for the price. It's that awkward atmosphere where you feel like you should leave a tip but there really isn't any service. You buy your food at the register and then they bring it to you. That's it. They also choose where you sit, which is fine and like most restaurants, but they sat us right behind the location where they brought the dishes. All we heard was clanging and people chatting right behind us. I think this place is better for the market located inside the restaurant and not a good spot to sit and... read more
Cheapest trip to Italy ever! Including the lost luggage. – Parisi is one of those places I've become addicted to! Even though the joint has becoming incredibly popular (read long lines) it is still always a pleasure to wait for my perfect pizza. The other dishes can be incredible as well, such as the homemade gnocchi and risotto. Parisi is the closest thing I've found to Italy, were I travel often, as it offers a fun, come everyone and bring your outside voice and vino sort of environment. The last time I was in we had a par... read more
Unbelievably poor experience, rude, mediocre food – Our party of four began downstairs, when we met our rude waiter. He was dry, arrogant and seemingly bored. Three of us ordered artchokes and were told our table would only need two. We asked if we could order three anyway and our waiter said "No, you will have two". Next, we asked if we could start with a pizza as an appetizer (they make them upstairs). Again, the answer was "No, you would have to go upstairs". Then, he walked away, and and as we waited forever for our two ... read more
Pizza with passion – What used to be a secret now has sick lines to get in on many evenings. Great Pizzas. Gnocchi is also great. I love the fresh basil garnish they use on tomoto sauced pastas. Of course, there's also the dynamite deli stocked with meat and cheese as well as frozen ravioli, etc. Finally, the gelato is the real deal. This is a bit of a drive for me, but it's quite worth it. My favorite part of parisis though is the rare occaision that you get to witness real familiy infighting between the kitchen and the res... read more
one of my favorite Italian restaurants – Great food!! Loved the salmon pasta, my favorite! Pizzas, sandwiches, salads, desserts, everything we've tried has been very good. Place can get a little crazy and very crowded but well worth it. Can get pricey if you do all the courses but plenty for a meal without doing all courses. Don't leave without trying at least one dessert.
Think twice, food way below average, rude owner – Loved this place at it's old location. The food was fresh and delicious. The new location on Tennyson is much larger and the food has suffered. Over-priced and thrown together without care. The atmosphere much like high school cafeteria, loud, chaotic, unpleasant. Factor in a rude, arrogant owner and I would advise people to pass on this place. I'm Italian, love Italian food, there are other places in town.
Amazing food, but is it worth it? – I used to be obsessed with this place when it was located at 44th & Lowell. The food is amazing. I loved the fresh mozz/pesto sandwich. However, I stopped going there b/c of the crowded confusion, pay-first method and slightly overpriced menu. Throw in an abrupt owner and the experiences became unpleasant - made me not want to give him the business. I say "experiences" (plural), b/c the abrupt attitude was a regular occurence. The wife is a delight, though. I haven't gone to the new locati... read more
