Pappa's empire mediocre tex-mex – And we arrive to the Pappa's Empire's version of the Tex-Mex restaurant. Like everything else in their chains, Pappasito's is good, but not great. Everything is designed with cost in mind, and while they actually pull it off to a certain extent, you come out feeling a little cheated. Big disappointment – The dining room was awfully noisy, chiefly because the tables were so close together. The evening began badly with a margarita that was too sweet, had little tequila, and lacked real lime juice. All the samples of Mexican food were too salty: the taco, the enchiladas and the tamale. I got much better food at the Taco Cabana and Pink Sombrero in San Antonio. Overall Pappasito's was a big disappointment.
Our best meal in Texas! – We had just arrived in Arlington (for the Paul McCartney concert) and stayed next door at Comfort Inn & Suites (wonderful hotel) and we were so excited to have our Mexican meal so as soon as we checked in we were over there. It was absolutely delicious but we ate way too much - should have taken a doggie bag home but we hated to stop eating as it was so good! Yummy! – i noticed all the bad reviews and thought it very strange. I have been here several times and I love it. I will admit the wait staff is not the best, but it no worse than any other restaurant of this type. The food has always been good, and their tableside guac is awesome. I admit it is a little pricey but they have some decent lunch specials.
Warning – I went to Pappasito's 5/22/09 for margaritas and appetizers with a friend. We decided to swing by another place for a minute after finishing. It was far less of a hassle to use one vehicle instead of both of us driving separate cars to the same place. When we returned 45 min later my car had been towed and I had to pay $200 to get it back. worst management in Sugar Land – I arrived at Pappasitos at approx. 5:40. I put my name on the waiting list because I was told that it would only take 45 minute wait. I understand that today was Valentime day and they were busy. What I didn't like is that the girls upfront kept lying to me. Very Unique TexMex – Again, a lunch crowd and with an urge for Mexican. This was my first time at a Pappasito's and man was it good! The service was very slow, we were about a table of 7 so not too big a group; but we were there almost TWO HOURS, lots of of spent saying "where is that waitress?". The food, however, was really good. They have a really broad menu, so there is something for everyone. The portions were HUGE, so I recommend sharing. All in all, a good experience, but I'll hope for a better server next time.
Very mediocre, over priced Tex Mex – Note to self; Self, do not eat at Mexican Restaurant CHAINS again. There are a lot of good Tex-Mex choices in Sugar Land/Missouri City/Stafford area. A place to enjoy the wait – Service is horrible, food is just ok, specials are overpriced. This is bar far the worst offering of there chains in the city. Last time we were there for saturday lunch, 2 hours. Managements was brought to the table 2 times requesting the check. We were about to walk out, thank god I had cash. Dont even want to think about having to pay with credit.
