I was having severe hip and leg pain. Dr. Desai examined me, listened to me, showed me a few diagrams, and assured me I did not need surgery and then recommended me to another doctor. I was very grateful to have such a nice and caring doctor attend to me
I've had seven foot surgeries by four surgeons, including the one Dr. Desai just performed. Dr. Desai took an incredible amount of time to explain his approach to solve foot issues that I continued to have for more than 15 years. His problem solving approach is to consider the bigger picture to make sure fixing one problem isn't going to cause a problem with another part of the body. His bedside manner is one of the best I've encountered from a healthcare provider.
I required a broken metatarsal repair in June 2022. My wife had previously had a good experience with Panorama Orthopedics, so I chose to go there. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Desai, and I continued to be throughout my visits. He explained what had happened, what I could expect from surgery and recovery, and he showed concern for my upcoming travel schedule. Dr Desai spent time getting to know me, my lifestyle and discussing my treatment options. He was very personable and knowledgeable. His staff was efficient, on time and cordial.
I saw Dr Desai a total of 3 times for my lapiplasty he performed. Four if you count surgery. When I had severe infection he was uninterested and stated he is a surgeon and doesn't deal with these things. His PA takes care of most things and those she doesn't, like removing stitches, is handed off to a tech. If you want an engaged doctor look elsewhere. Dr. Dessie was great about explaining the procedure and was patient with my quest. He is very knowledgeable and he gave me a lot of confidence in his skill. After researching several doctors, I found him to be highly qualified as he had kept up with the most current processes to afford me the best care. I appreciate that!
You have to wait a long time at appointments for him. They’re very efficient and organized which means you don’t get a whole lot of time with him. But he does more lapiplasty fixes than anyone around. He fixed my left foot a couple years ago and now will fix my right. I highly recommend starting PT ASAP (2 weeks?) because the scar tissue otherwise is painful and problematic
I really like that he is so attentive and listens to what his patients have to say.
Dr Desai is, in my opinion, the most qualified dr to operate on the delicate repair of a tendon. It is remarkably complicated, delicate and slow to heal due to limited blood supply in a tendon. I have had almost no pain, and am now able to rehabilitate my foot and ankle, and will finally be able to walk normally again. Dr Desai answers your questions in an efficient manor, and I have complete confidence in him.
