What a gorgeous view. I highly recommend the CCC Trail and Lighthouse Trail. Be prepared for lots of biting flies, though. Definitely will come back for more.
We visited the park and what a beautiful place it is. We also took in the play "Texas", they did a wonderful job and the tribute at the end of production to the Veterans was very moving and impressive.
Do not miss this Palo Duro Canyon State Park. If you are camping (have reservations) be aware of a 10% grade into the camping area. Lots of trails - be sure to have plenty of water - it is very hot in June here but so worth the adventure. Like the Grand Canyon - the views change as the day light moves across the canyon.
This canyon is beautiful!!! My mom has cancer, and when asked where she would like to visit again before she no longer with us, she said she would love to come back here. A special THANK YOU for everyone that made this possible for her <3
I visited the park on Sunday June 11,2017 and had the most amazing time. The views were breathtaking and I could easily spend a week exploring this park, but I did see quite a bit in the 7 hours I was there. Gods handiwork on display in the most amazing way.
It was awesome. You can drive your car on a paved road to the bottom. My mom, uses a walker, had a great time with us seeing everything. A must see
Gorgeous. Just one suggestion- bring Gatorade! Despite following the water recommendation, we nearly passed out on an easy one hour walk.
Beautiful scenery! Loved all the colors of the Canyon and seeing all the wildlife!
It was 114 degrees but other than that it was a beautiful place to stay. We saw a lot of wild life form a deer to a coyote. We will definitely go back
