I visited my Clemson University colleague Dr. S’shome on 9th August 2026 to evaluate the refurbished flooring by Palmetto Sanding and Refinishing Company, as I am in the market with a similar need. I was shocked to notice substantial uneven floor planks. This job was finished during the end of April, and three months is too short a period for such unevenness, unless it was not addressed during the sanding stage. I am an experienced retired handyman. I visited one of Palmetto Floor Sanding & Refinishing home projects. These are my observations: The repair work of replacing the flooring was not sanded properly and/or untreated wood was used and/or not anchored properly to the floor board. This has lead to undulations in the flooring at different points. The oil based polyurethane coat was very inadequate. Could be due to over dilution of the poly and/or pressure dragging the T. I recently contracted Palmetto Flooring, Sanding & Refinishing for a home floor project. The contract was for repair of some damaged planks/strips that needed to be replaced, complete sanding of the flooring, and, 3 coats of oil based polyurethane. The contractor insisted that it would include additional cost for replacement of quarter rounds at the floorboard that got added to the cost.
