Dirty – Ok, here is a situation where a company could have received a 4 or 5 star rating, but they blew it in the details. Darque Tan from what I am told is run by a company based in Texas.. The owner has put a lot into the facility, with many beds and two spray booths.. Now here is the part that makes me so pissed.. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to there and the spray booths are broken or out of spray. FUNGUS FROM DIRTY TANNING BEDS – I started tanning at Darque Tan a couple months ago, and after about the first month, I noticed little white spots all over my body. The staff told me to use lotions and I did, and the spots did not go away. Finally I went to see a doctor and he told me that the white spots were FUNGUS from the tanning beds not being cleaned properly. hated it – i"m passionate about tanning and was excited about getting started after moving to LA. The salon was convenient to my work and I went in hoping for a friendly smile and a chat! Instead the girl behind the desk was finishing a call on her cell phone and Finally when she was done the salon phone rang and she talked forever at no point did she acknowledge me standing waiting and waiting. INSECTS IN MY TANNING BED – THERE WERE INSECTS IN MY TANNING BED AND ALL OVER MY CLOTHES WHEN I GOT OUT. I don't know if I can ever go back to this place again. I tanned and when i looked at the itch on my leg, there were critters in the bed and all over my clothes that I had set on the floor.
Mystic Tan – I recently bought a Mystic tan package at a great price. The atmosphere is great and the staff very friendly and professional, however, I have scheduled appointments for the mystic tan twice in the past month and the machine has been out of service/not working properly. Since they only have one booth, it can be extremely inconvenient (especially when you make an appointment). It can take anywhere from a few hours to a day to service the booth. Simply the best all-around customer service – The beds there are amazing, they look like they came from the future...and, they always work (cant say that about a few other companies i went to) The employees are super helpful and polite. Amazing prices. I go at least once a week (more if the weather's bad). Highly recommended
Okay tanning facility, fees/package prices not thoroughly discussed by staff – First, let me say that I was initally very happy with my first visit and dealings with the Wilshire location. The sales girl was very friendly and, seemingly, answered my questions about their tanning (Mystic) prices/packages. But this is where my good opinion of them ends. Great Tanning Spot – I just recently started going here after I was finally able to break away from another extremely pushy chain (Le Beach club anyone?). I walked in and presented the get one get one free citysearch coupon, and was immediately able to redeem it for a cocktail (tanning bed followed by mystic tan for great absorption of the tan). Great Experience!! – I will never go anywhere else again!! I used to go to a salon in Brentwood but was over the high pressure sales every time I went in. One of my friends told me about Unique Tan. The staff was very friendly, and very knowledgeable. The salon is HUGE and very well maintained. I tried their "best" bed, and was immediately hooked.
