A hearing test only confirmed what I had been denying for months and months. My hearing sucked. I turned up the volume on the TV. I asked people to repeat themselves. I felt like I was in a war zone in restaurants, couldn't understand anyone. I became part of the "what?" generation. The final straw was reading somewhere that there was a link between hearing loss and dementia. I didn't want to be the guy checking out of all conversations with that spaced out look on my face.
