What a wonderful experience with Dr McConville and staff. Highly recommend !!
Dr. McConville was rude and completely unhelpful. I went there in so much pain and all he said was “ I’m a shoulder doctor and your shoulder looks fine.” Oh and of course I was charged a $60 co pay for that. He could have cared less about me as a patient or my pain; he just moved right along to the next patient.
This doctor is very nice. I was in for rotator cuff tear. His explanations were clear. I felt very confident being under his care and everything came out perfect. Now I have five months of work ahead. Staff at South Shore Orthopedic are exceptional. I highly recommend Dr McConville and would go to him again, although this operation and it's aftermath are no picnic and the recovery takes time and commitment.
Dr McConville is the expert in his field!! He explained what would happen if I didn’t fix my rotator cuff but left the decision to me. Due to Covid, surgery was put off & my shoulder was quickly freezing. Dr McConville and Sue got me in as soon as possible and my pain was relieved. He himself called me the next day which is unheard of today. I was very impressed and would recommend him to everyone I know!! Also KUDOS to his entire staff especially Sue. They are fantastic and make you feel like you matter!

Very pleasant professional incredibly easy to deal with and made a very unpleasant situation very easy. Top notch care from beginning to end. just started follow from shoulder surgery and very pleased with care i have received.
Dr. McConville preformed shoulder rotator cuff surgery on me a week ago. I had my follow up office visit today and was very pleased with his explanation and presentation of the imaging of the procedure he preformed. His admin staff (Sue was the primary contact) are also very responsive and helpful with questions and scheduling. I would most certainly recommend Dr. McConville (and South Shore Orthopedics in general) to those in need of diagnosis and treatment of injuries.
My experience with Dr. McConville and South Shore Orthopedics has been exceptional to date as I now begin a physical therapy program following surgery for a torn rotator cuff along with other shoulder issues. I look forward to the continued support from Dr. McConville and the South Shore Orthopedics staff !
Really rude. He did my first knee surgery a few months ago. I was still in pain and all he did was tell me I should be fine. Sent me to a new MRI to “ease” my mind. Called with the results and told me I had nothing wrong and I didn’t try hard enough in PT. Then called again telling me it’s possible I have a new tear. I got a second opinion and turns out I most likely need another surgery. Even before the surgery he was nothing but rude and rushed around and would barely talk to me.
I've had two arthroscopic knee surgeries with Dr. McConville and both have been an easy process. He is very professional, explains everything in a simplified way and is always on time. I've been to the Hingham office a few times and I'm always taken in right at the time of my appointment if not earlier. The staff in the office is wonderful too. I would highly recommend!!
