While I know these women have the best interests at heart, they often give advice that is counterproductive for mothers. I was told to supplement with formula before 5 days, when my milk had not come in. The lc told me I just had low supply. She didn’t say to nurse more, and pretty much ruined my breastfeeding relationship. I never had a full supply because she told me to pump after feedings, and top off with formula.
