RecommendedI highly recommend OrthoPets Orthotics and Prosthetics for animals. They are amazingly knowledgeable and make awesome products to help improve the quality of animals' lives.
If it was not for Ortho Pets my dog Shasta would not being walking and running today. My journey started in March 2017 with my dog who suddenly started limping on her left back leg. She weighed 70 pounds and was walking 5 miles several times a week. Then she could barely walk one step. Fast forward, in September we had her fitted at the Holistic Vet in Oakland and transitioned to A WELL ADJUSTED Pet in Pacifica. 6 years ago my 10 year old lab Lizzie had a complete CCL tear. I opted for an Orthopets brace. It took a couple of weeks for her to get used to it but she ended up doing great. A year later she partially tore her other CCL. I got another brace and once again she did great. After a year or so she didn’t really need the braces anymore. She hiked with us until she was about 14 years old. She was such a happy girl and I am so glad I never had her have to endure surgery. The brace makes several raw spots on my dog's leg. There is a sock available for an additional $50 with no guarantee it will work. After spending over $800 on this brace, why do I have to pay additional money for it to work properly. Shouldn't the sock be included in the price? So no matter what, my dog is in pain. She's in pain when she wears the brace because it's rubbing (actually tries to chew it off) & she's in pain when she doesn't wear it. What a ripoff
Orthopets did not stand by their product... they made a hobble vest that clearly didn't fit my chihuahua as it left him with sores but refused any responsibility for it.. they clearly don't have experience with small/toy breeds
To say that Orthopets deserves a 5-star review and that they are truly excellent is an understatement. My dog Levi suffered from a torn cruciate a couple of years ago. I was so devastated to have to go through it AGAIN (he tore his other knee a couple years prior and I opted for surgery - it was so tentative and a very LONG process).
