I would sure hate to be Dr. Assil’s patient, or a Cedar-Sinai patient for that matter. If a nurse had a concern about my condition, she may face physician violence for speaking up or asking for help. Violence against healthcare workers is not only unacceptable, but it compromises patient safety as well. Shame on you Cedars for protecting a dangerous physician.
Not anywhere that will be able to attract high quality nurses for a long time, or patients for that matter. Please get rid of Dr. Assill. Someone who can't control their anger and assaults women really shouldn't be around patients. It's not assceptable.
As an RN, I am outraged with the video of a nurse being physically abused by a doctor. If this doctor is not held accountable for this actions, you are contributing to the silence of abuse across the United States. Shame on you.
I am devastated to learn that Cedars-Sinai would stand by surgeon's physical abuse towards a nurse. By keeping him in payroll Cedars is acting in support of the abusive surgeon and allowing that abusive culture to continue. I know the wonderful place Cedars has been and I hope it takes action to correct this. I hope The Joint Commission looks into this matter and I hope The Justice department has a more fair treatment to the nurse than the facility did.
