I left Dr. Martin's office feeling confident in his assessment. Most importantly, the prescribed medication and therapy are working.
I presented with loss of fine motor skills in my right arm. Since I had my right shoulder replaced several years earlier (not by Dr. Martin), I thought that the problem was shoulder related. After listening to me and taking an X ray of the shoulder, Dr. Martin correctly diagnosed the problem was with my neck, not my shoulder. I have since had a two level (C4-5, C-56) neck fusion and the problem has been corrected. Dr. Martin was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. Staff was courteous and professional.
My visit included a review of the knee x-ray and confirmation that my right knee has osteo-arthritis. Dr. Martin provided a cortisone shot and had me fitted for a knee brace I have since received and use. Knee surgery was recommended as a last resort when i find knee pain unbearable so that is to be determined.
I have seen several orthopedic surgeons over the last 20 years for varying joint issues., but I have to say that one you find a provider that just "clicks" with you, he/she is a keeper. Dr. Sheldon Martin is one of those "keepers". He can almost read your mind. He can take a painful joint and work his magic, plus an injection or two and it's good for six months. My 81 year old mother fell in Oct 2022 breaking her right shoulder and left knee. Her injury was severe. We were referred to OrthoAz Dr. Sheldon Martin. He seemed knowledgeable and confident about repairing her injuries. The problem is his follow through is non existent. His assistant says he doesn’t need to follow through. He just writes the orders.
