Great place! For those that yearn for traditional Puerto Nuevo style lobster, but don't want to hassle with going to Mexico, this is your place! A very nice decor and atmosphere, very reasonable prices and great food make this a place I've been to more than once. Try it!

Good Food Great Mexican food they have really good appetizers, I love the queso fundido. Happy hour 3:00-6:30 Monday-Sunday you can't beat that.

Good Lobster I eat here often. If you like real authentic Mexican food Ortegas is the place. I love the lobster and shrimp plate they cook it just like in puerto nuevo served with rice, beans and tortillas.

Edible I do enjoy going to this place once every couple of months for a "Puerto Nuevo" lobster. Why a 3 star rating? Technically 3 stars means ok, so this place is actually ok. Positives: I do like their tortilla soups (they have 2 kinds, both are good), and I do like the Puerto Nuevo whole lobster. Not so positives: I really don't like the salsa, the rice or the beans. If you are in the neighborhood, you should try them out and see if you agree

Baja Lobster without Trip Across Border If you are looking for good Baja lobster, but don't want to cross the border, go to Ortega's in Hillcrest. Yes, it will cost you more than in Mexico, but it's the closest you can get without crossing the border.
