Set the bar REALLY high! – My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years. It's where I first learned how to use chopsticks! They gave me "training" ones my first visit! LOL! It has always been the same staff, they know our name, we know theirs and they make it so you feel you are among friends. I have never had low quality sushi here. Best place ever! – I have been going to Origami for over 2 years now, almost weekly. I am always more than satisfied with the service, the food and the atmosphere. When you eat at a traditional Japanese rest. you need to have patience. This is not fast food- if you want that- there is a McD's in the parking lot. If they are busy- be prepared to wait for your food like an adult- as it is all made fresh, by hand and in the order the tickets are submitted. Best Sushi in Austin Area – I've been eating here for the last 6 years and the quality of the food has always been excellent. Whether it's from the kitchen or the sushi bar, it is regularly better than other sushi bars like Musashino and Uchi. I see other reviewers complaining about the serving size/price or an automatic tip. I've eaten at many sushi bars all over the Austin area as well as other states. Best Sushi in Round Rock – Dont let the strip mall location turn you off, this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Austin area. I have eaten here many times over the last few years and rarely have I not been happy with the experience. The sushi is fresh and the decor is very warm. Seating at the bar, regular tables or on the floor if you want the traditional feel. Good selection of rolls if thats your thing. For those that want cheap, try going for lunch.

this is the real thing, go here! – recently told to check out this place in (of all places) round rock. this is THE BEST SUSHI outside of sticking your face in the ocean. i travel to japan frequently for business and can say this place must have smuggled back some talent. they have people who actually speak japanese and know the food! i found the prices were comparable to others in austin. the service was good and very friendly. went to another place last week called beluga just to see if this round rock thing was a fluke...... read more

Go to Beluga instead – Overpriced and the service is terrible! I've been twice and each time my husband got his food about 15 minutes before I got mine. The waitresses completely ignored us. They didn't even bring us water for about 5 minutes (we had to remind her 3 times). The sushi is just OK but not worth how long you have to wait for it.

Hypocrisy at its finest – It seems ironic to me that they they charge an automatic 15%-20% tip to every table. I am a server myself, and a while back I waited on the head chef and the owner. They sat at my table for over 2.5 hours working on their new happy hour menu. They ordered drinks, and sent them back for ridiculous reasons. The chef sent his margarita back because it was made with sweet and sour. Well, thats what most margaritas are made of. In any event, he did't like it - no big deal. I excused his behavior. Going Down Hill Fast... – I used to love this place and the owners, but they seem to have forgotten that it is loyal customers who pay for them to be in business. We have always prided ourselves on tipping well 20% to 30% when we could afford it, but right now money is tight for everybody, and their automated tip policy seems no different than if they mugged us.
