Origami is located in the market hotel in the heart of the warehouse district in Downtown Minneapolis. The market hotel, constructed as a two-story building in 1867, originally housed a meat market. When the city made plans to construct the "City Market", John Heinrich, the building's builder and owner, converted the building into a lodging house and named it the "Market Hotel".

Not any more! – Ok Origami Used to be good. Years ago! Now Too expensive and the quality is leaving. The Parking is CRAP. The attitude is stuffy, almost snobish. Take a short drive to KABUKI's
Better than Most on the Coasts – I love sushi, but am often disappointed by the poor quality. I have yet to be disappointed at Origami.
June Is Our Hero – As a member of the Junesan fan club -- he is the best sushi chef in town. As for Origami the quality and selection of the fish is first rate, the staff is fun ... and then there is June.
Not worth it... – Origami is definitely good Japanese food...for Minnesota. The service is very prompt but a bit arrogant. The sushi is hit and miss...the last time it tasted like it sat in a grocer's case for a few days. A bit expensive for what you get...I recommend Kikugawa, a short trip across the river.
Agree to the fullest degree:) – Origami is definitely the BEST sushi source here in the Twin Cities! I am always open to trying other sushi spots, however I never find sushi elsewhere that even compares:)
Now THIS is Sushi!! – What a great menu. Ebi, Unagi, and tako all excellent. Miso was wonderful! Great-great place to eat wonderful sushi!!!
Best Sushi of Minnepolis – Atmosphere is #1 here, if they have a tuna or eel special, make sure to ask about them! They are wonderful!!
Very fresh. – Great sushi and they will prepare special requests. Convenient to downtown employees and patrons of Theatre de le Juene. The place is fairly small so reservations are recommended. Not much of a selection outside of sushi.
Not your average catch – Having moved from Southern Cal, I am always careful about ordering sushi in the Midwest. However, I am suprised by the good quality of sushi everytime I dine there, but not too fond of the tight quarters. Service is hit and miss.
Origami has a 4.5 star rating with 86 reviews.
