This is a little long, but honest. Talked to PCP about serious back pain February 2025, MRI was ordered, referred to Oregon Spine Clinic. Had to wait 6 weeks for next opening (really!? I'm on Medicare so what, next charity slot?). Saw a PA, "not really sure what's wrong, let's do some injections." Had one of the shots hit the spot, like "ow!! That one hurt where it hurts!" Robert Tatsumi is a hack. Terrible surgeon, I am getting his surgery redone this week because Tatsumi didn’t put the right disc in the first time. He does not deserve his license
I'm from out of town and went to Oregon Spine for a 2nd opinion. On the first visit I learned I had 2 ruptured disks, not just the one from 25 years ago. Dr. Tatsumi gave me a game plan that made perfect sense: Address both problems in one surgery and be done with it. Tatsumi fused the lowest lumbar disk, and put an artificial disk in at the adjacent level (those are not covered by insurance). The surgery went perfectly. Excellent practice, expertly operated. I dealt with chronic back pain from a high school sports injury for over 20 years, before experiencing severe mobility issues, intense nerve pain and ultimately loss of sensation and function of my legs.
