The care seems to be good, but the patient portal is absolutely terrible. You can't see upcoming appointments. You can see balances, but not make payments (you have to call their third-party billing company to do that). This can pose big problems if, say, your elderly parent forgets their appointment time the night before and you don't know whether it was at 8am (opening time) or 9am. Dr. Ching is an excellent surgeon and communicator. I had a laminectomy in January 2025. He took significant time with me at appointments prior to surgery and spent time with my family post surgery giving detailed explanations and answering all questions thoroughly. He has a knack for condensing complex information into an understandable language. His wry humor is an added bonus. I highly recommend Dr. Ching for spine care.
As I'm sure most are, I had some anxiety about having back surgery at a day surgical center. I had been in significant pain for five months and knew the reputation of Dr. Tatsumi and his team, so trusting Dr. Tatsumi, I went ahead and scheduled. Any anxiety I had was utterly unfounded. My wife has been a patient of Doctor Tatsumi's the last several months for both her lower back and neck. My wife and I have been very impressed with his level of expertise, candidness and bedside manner. He is very personable and takes the time to answer any questions you may have, including getting us in for an appointment whenever we need (often double booking himself). I was in a big pain, particularly my right buttoc and leg was in a worst situtaion and changed to sciatica. However, the surgery was my last option, and I had to got steroid injection which gives only a temporary pain relief. After I decided the surgery, Dr Tasumi did my surgery in a very amazing way. I have been almost three weeks now since I got the surgery. My 90 percent pain has gone away now except there is still some numbness on my right foot.
