Robert Tatsumi is a hack. Terrible surgeon, I am getting his surgery redone this week because Tatsumi didn’t put the right disc in the first time. He does not deserve his license
I'm from out of town and went to Oregon Spine for a 2nd opinion. On the first visit I learned I had 2 ruptured disks, not just the one from 25 years ago. Dr. Tatsumi gave me a game plan that made perfect sense: Address both problems in one surgery and be done with it. Tatsumi fused the lowest lumbar disk, and put an artificial disk in at the adjacent level (those are not covered by insurance). The surgery went perfectly. Excellent practice, expertly operated. I dealt with chronic back pain from a high school sports injury for over 20 years, before experiencing severe mobility issues, intense nerve pain and ultimately loss of sensation and function of my legs. Robert Tatsumi was the only spine doctor out of three that told me the truth on the first meeting, "I can help you but you need to lose weight before surgery not after". I took that to heart as task #1 in order to start feeling pain free, I hurt daily. I contacted my personal doctor who set me up with a weight loss doctor.
