It was created on Long Island Sound by Parks Commissioner Robert Moses during the 1930s. It is regarded as 'The Riviera' of New York and is divided into 13 sections including the beach, a hexagonal promenade, central pavilion, playgrounds, picnic areas, a parking lot and 26 courts for various ball games. During summer this place is frequented by sunbathers and beach sport enthusiasts.

That’s my go to place on the weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Met so many people there and enjoy the Salsa on Sundays in July and August. The Bronx Riviera.
