When I first started donating Platelets in New York City in the 1980's one morning I was told that afternoon 4yr old girl with Aplastic Anemia would get then that afternoon!
I spent over four hours standing in the sun waiting to donate for the Chick-Fil-A/movie ticket deal but my pulse was 4bpm over the limit five minutes after the first check when it was supposed to be ten minutes. I was turned away like garbage with nothing to show for my wasted day. Screw OneBlood. After years of donating, I’m never coming back.
