I was born in San Diego, moved to VA when I was 9, that was 40+ years ago. I have missed the Mexican food for all those years, so when I went back to San Diego last year to visit my daughter who is stationed there, we went to Old Town, another one of my favorite places, and we had supper at Old Town Mexican Cafe. Love this place. Warm homemade tortillas (flour and corn), beans and rice and tacos (made with homemade, fried corn tortillas) amazing. Wish we had something even remotely similar in Denver. 🙁 Every time we visit San Diego, OTMC is part of the plan.
I sat at the bar for a drink and it smelled like wet dirty towel. The drink was really good and my chilaquiles.
My go to place when I come to San Diego. Service is always top notch and they have some of the best carnitas I have ever had in my life.

This place is incredible! Great food, drink, and service. If in Old Town, the Old Town Mexican Cafe is a must! You will not be disappointed.
Love this place...ribs, rotisserie chicken, homemade tortillas, and Mezcal! Ask for Will the bartender he rocks...he'll take good care of you. If you're in Old Town you should stop in.
