Go For The Brew! – Market pub has great beer (especially the Black Magic on Nitro), but the food has always been inconsistant- especially for the value. While the gyro and burgers are decent, they only serve chips with their burgers (no fries) and charge $8 for an order of onion rings! The pasta we had a few months back was almost inedible. Service depends on what time of day you go, and who you get as your server. But their alone brew is well worth the trip to the market!!! :)
Sorry I moved away – I lived near this pub but moved away 4 years ago. I just found myself in the area and made a special trip for dinner. Service was friendly, atmosphere terrific, and the food and beer beat anything on my side of town. I highly recommend the (obviously homemade) soups and chili. I also love the variety of foods to choose from. I wish I had a Mr. Toad's beer right now!
Pretty Good On My First time – Just moved to the neighborhood, went in for a quick bite, loved it. It's a big place, bigger than it looks from the outside, I thought I was going into a tavern, but this is a busy restaurant. Warning: the chili dogs aren't available at dinner unless you ask, I took the rest home and ate all weekend. I'll go again.
Had to check it out for myself – A friend invited me, I balked over reviews. But a pleasant surprise it was. Very good service, friendly staff, good location, good parking, great beers and good food for a just above average price. I will go again gladly!
The Worst in Town! – Not only is the service consistently the worst in town -- the food is not good, but they close off sections of the dining area at any given time. It was bad when they opened and they continue year after year to provide nothing a restaurant goer can enjoy.
far better than average – I've been there 4 times in the last two months at different times of the day/week. The service is average at best, (see other comments) The food however was fantastic. The portions are huge for the most part (corn beef rueben is stellar!) even the pasta portions are sizeable. You've got to admit it's getting better... – I have read all these reviews, and must say that each time I have been in, my service has been average, friendly- but not stellar. My recommendation, find a server you like and try to be seated in their section. if you have a good server, be vocal and let them know. Yes, the set up can be ineffective, but remember, it is a pub and the service staff doesn't make the rules. Great, BIG place – Great as always. I've been coming to the OMP for years, and I love it! I looked at the other reviews, they are pretty old, and I've never had a problem. Try Mr. Toad's, best beer in town!
Great place, horrible wait staff – Never in my life besides McMenamins have I been to a place with worse service. The wait staff seem like it is a problem to wait on you, if at all. We have waited for a check for 30+ minutes, beer for 20+ and food an hour. Our waitress forgot to put the order in one time and did not even comp us anything but 1 beer.
