I went in for help with depression and anxiety, not knowing what to do. I spoke with this doctor who completely turned everything I was saying around and made it seem like I was literally crazy with schizophrenia. That was not the case at all. I had no symptoms of that. I was literally depressed and just needed help and they made it into something it wasn’t. I wasn’t allowed to leave, I could not AMA out. I could not speak to my family. Worst place to seek help. They barely have time to talk on the phones to their loved ones everyday. You have other patients in the background yelling at other patients to give them the phone. My mom went in there voluntary and was just there to lower her meds. After they had lowered the meds she sounded fine and was ready to go home. Then all of a sudden they make the decision to add on two medications that she doesn't need whatsoever to make her kind of sedated for no reason. I was really hoping all of the negative reviews were from disgruntled patients. Unfortunately, the reviews are correct. Please don’t send your loved ones here. I left Oceans today and received none of the care I was anticipating. I voluntarily came in. I saw a psychiatrist one time for less than five minutes via FaceTime. He agreed to see me the next day but never saw me again. I received no counseling or therapy. I was told I could bring in new, unopened toiletries, which is not true. Oceans is a valuable asset to our community! Both their in-patient and out-patient programs offer something unique to Oceans. They are great to work with and staff are very responsive and jump into help at a moments notice!
Like an earlier review, I had mixed feelings about my stay with Oceans Inpatient. Not all bad, but much was wrong here. There were several staff members that were amazing at their job, friendly, helpful, and kind. There were also a few that were not so. To the ones that were the 1st type, it's because of you that this place has 2 extra stars instead of just 1.
