Being locked out of your apartment is only legally used to force a tenat to contact a landlord. the landlord has to provide a key to you within a reasonable amount of time after a lockout. Whether you pay the rent or not you cannot be locked out until you pay, only to make you talk to the landlord. Look up the laws, the landlord was breaking the law, the police can be called and force the landlord to provide you a key.

I was evicted from my apartment for my brother going to jail and he wasnt even on the property. He was 10 miles away from where i stayed. then I was on section 8 and they paid for the month after I left but the apartments said that I still owed for the next months rent. I do not like anyone taking advantage of me and now Im stuck with a broken lease on my credit and they are making me pay for everything after they received money from section 8.
