RecommendedIn large part...serious AA meetings with serious (about recovery) attendees. focus is on How am I going to live sober today? little war stories...little "open talks" or windy speeches holding tables hostage. the quality of mtgs largely depends on those people who make up the MTG. OCAC..a bastion of helpful people serious about recovery. The Northside MTG at St Andrews is also a really good MTG..but too far away for me. I'm struggling to get ride to meetings. would appreciate anyobe who could help. Andrew T. 248-636-9329
I was a severe alcoholic (I was up to drinking a fifth of Jack every evening, and I only weigh around 130lbs); and desperately needed help. I tried several AA meetings at various locations, and none seemed inviting or welcoming. From the first moment I walked into the Alano Club in Clarkston, I felt welcomed and part of a community.
