RecommendedThey are top notch. I am been assisting people on the independent side for almost 15 years now. It is a great place, constantly updating and keeping up with all the changes in elderly living.
A change in management would be ideal
Highly concerned about administrative level. There are no systems in place, huge medication management issues that caused us the greatest concern. I understand the head of the organization Scott Frank has finally come in the beginning of the month to, maybe, find out what is going on at this facility. I would like to know what steps are taking place, because although we have left, I care deeply for those remaining families who have no one to advocate. RecommendedMy parents spent several years at Oak Park Assisted Living. The staff was by far the most caring and compassionate group I have ever met. They treated my parents like family. The activities worked great for my dad as he made several friends during his time there. I will be forever grateful for the care they received. The night that my father passed away the staff stayed with us. They politely asked if we wanted privacy but I knew they cared about him as much as we did. RecommendedTheir dedicated staff provide excellent care. Terry leads a wonderful activity program.
Just a warning, do not put your loved ones here. They make a bunch of promises to you and have a nice facility to get you in the door, but the quality of care is so low. My grandpa was in memory care here and did not receive the care he was paying for. They fed him, but that's about it. Didn't help him with hearing aids, didn't clean his clothes ever or his bathroom, didn't try to get him out of his room at all. Very sad. Took him elsewhere and found a much more caring place with friendlier staff.
