Come enjoy her beauty and dream of her rich past . . . Located on the Mississippi River between the historic Louisiana cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Oak Alley Plantation has been called the "Grande Dame of the Great River Road". Great experience. Ours hosts did a wonderful job explaining how this sugar cane plantation operated. Self sufficiently. They are doing their best to collect history on all the people who lived there. Sadly, slavery was a key element to the plantations success.

Can’t believe I finally got to see Oak Alley in person. The trees and landscape alone were worth the trip. Touring the slave quarters was sobering but we loved hearing about the strength and perseverance by so many who were enslaved there. This place is an amazing part of a visit to Louisiana. Hope to return someday.

I have been visiting Oak Alley with my sister and brother EVERY year since 2015. The grounds are beautiful ... so much history here. We have stayed overnight in one of the cabins the past 2 years. By staying in the cabin, it gives us the opportunity to take photos of this beautiful place early in the morning and and evenings while the plantation is closed to the public. A wonderful experience 💖
