Do not move to The Lark Bellingham. This place constantly has broken, damaged, or out-of-service equipment and amenities. Garbage piled up repeatedly over the past year, and it took far too long for management to resolve it. The shuttle breaks down frequently, and residents aren't notified until it's too late—causing you to miss class or pay for parking out of pocket. Living here kind of sapped the humanity out of my soul. Shuttle is nice but that's about it. This is a place for people who have their parents pay off the entirety of their rent while they go to school, because otherwise you're going to be left with nothing at the end of every month. Lark will squeeze you for everything. There's no security deposit to get back at the end of your lease, just an $800 "administrative fee" so that when you move on they can charge you again for issues that were never your fault. Living at Lark was like living in a nightmare. The people that run the office reek of insincerity and corporate america. They don't care about anyone at all. They have thousands of people staying at that property and it's mainly controlled by 2 or 3 people. They want you to sign your lease and that's it. If anything, I would say they get off on how miserable their residents are. Every single resident I encountered has had issues with Lark. They really like screwing people out of money any way they can. Claiming my brother had signed a lease through them and sent a $14,000 bill to collections. If he signed a lease why wasn’t he given a key to a room or billed rent at all? When he has emails stating to Lark that he wasn’t interested. He APPLIED. that was it. He hasn’t been able to get ahold of an actual person at the building to get ahold of the so called lease he signed. I've heard a lot of bad things about lark, and some of its true, and some of its people being really picky. The trash and recycling situation is awful, and sits there for a long time very often, but some of that is due to residents not understanding how it works or just leaving broken trash bags on the ground. my other big complaint is the pressure to sign a renewal contract a month after moving in.
