About this business

The aim of our entire organization, sales, marketing and editorial is: to empower intelligent, open-minded innovators through storytelling. Generally speaking, NUVO is for the underdog. As we are independently owned and operated, we feel we have few conflicts of interest. We also seek to identify those innovators and early adopters who are leading the way to a more conscious, healthy and wise way of living. To accomplish this in editorial, we use a combination of staff writers, editors and photographers, along with a variety... read more

I adopted my amazing dog Ruby from one of these said shelters you report the animals go to to meet their maker. I know wonderful people who work there and volunteer endless hours volunteering to ensure most of these animals are placed in amazing homes. To allow this article to go through your editors hands and actually be printed is a total lack of fact checking and actual research and reporting. Don’t claim to be an editorial when clearly it’s not done. Go back to being what you gained your fame for...telling us of upcoming... read more

I'm disappointed in NUVO's comments about Indianapolis Animal Care Services. They boast almost a 90% save rate. I previously worked at IndyHumane and worked closely with staff at IACS - they work so hard with an ever-shrinking budget, and their staff and volunteers care a lot. Here is my suggestion for the article wording: Indianapolis has a tremendous group of animals advocates working to find homes for animals who have found themselves in need. Thanks to the efforts of so many, including IndyHumane, this year's winner of "... read more

It may not have been your intent to Shelter shame IACS with the “meet their maker at animal control” comment but that’s how it comes off. The real shame is that you missed a GOLDEN opportunity to educate the public on the importance of spay/neuter!!! Shelters everywhere are bearing the burden of irresponsible pet owners. Spay/neuter is the only way out of the unwanted pet population crisis! Maybe you could redeem yourself by sharing low cost s/n information with your followers????

Associating Indianapolis Animal Care Services with animals “meeting their maker”, is disrespectful to the tremendous amounts of work they put into finding homes for these homeless pets. By no means am I saying Indy Humane does not, but don’t forget the hard work EVERYONE in animal welfare is currently providing.

“Meet their maker” seriously NUVO? Why don’t you come to IACS, NOT IACC, and see what we actually do. How dare you.

Shame on Nuvo for dissing the city shelter. They have no money and do the best they can. The writer saying that is where pets go to die is uniformed. HSI gets all the glory because they cherry pick the adoptable animals and get all the donations. If people really want to help animals most in need they would volunteer and donate to the city shelter and tell their reps in government to give them more resources.

NUVO should be ashamed of themselves! I see NOTHING positive about IACS here. It already gets a bad rep for being a "kill shelter" and this doesn't help. Every time I advertise the shelter, I have people saying "oh, is that the shelter that kills animals? No thanks, I don't support that!" How can you not support a group of passionate people who THRIVE to save every single one of these animals??? It sounds like we just get animals in and just throw them in this "death machine" that kills them all, when in reality, we do EVERY... read more
